1. why is the phase singular if means plurel as in everyone
2. why is corvées feminine? I would have thought corvés as it is a mix of people (potentially)

1. why “tri” and not “trie”, I couldn’t find a “tri” in any tenses?

Toute le monde -- (lit.) all of the world / everybody. In English, "everybody" is singular just as tout le monde is singular in French.
Le tri is a noun. It means separation, sorting.
Le tri déchets -- waste sorting
La corvée -- chore, drudgery
