A million years ago when I was at school doing French dictees, the teacher would read out the punctuation. Would it be possible to do that, too? I don't feel like docking points off my score because I put a full stop rather than an exclamation mark!
Is complète an acceptable alternative to 'finit' ?
My understanding is that for a general comment, 'C'est' is used when followed by any determiner.
I agree with the last two questions. 'Elle est' seems correct, as it is a description of a specific person.
to me it sounds like
La planète mérite bien cet effort
Why is it ce modèle instead of cette modèle?
Thanks in advance!
I had a test question to fill in the blanks: comment ___ vos enfants?
I put : vont-ils
The answer is : vont
I don't understand why I am wrong. If so, how to express the same meaning with inverted question? Thanks.
elle a plus mangé que moi or elle a mangé plus que moi
Blandine a joué plus au tennis que toi. (is it valid?)
Blandine a joué au tennis plus que toi. (is it valid?)
Blandine a plus joué au tennis que toi. (is it valid?)
which ones of them are valid?
The examples:
1. J’ai besoin d’aller faire les courses avant le dîner and
2. Je dois aller faire les courses avant dîner
I understand that in 1. the noun is used and in 2. the verb but in 2. could you also say
Je dois aller faire les courses avant le dîner ?
I’m asking because my mind translates 2. as - i need to go shopping before dining.
