In order to vote in France, you need to bring a passport or an ID card. You can also have an official voting card but it isn't compulsory. Then, you go to a polling station. Polling stations open at 8am and they close at 7pm. There is one ballot paper per candidate. In a small envelope, you must put the name of your favourite candidate. Then, you drop the envelope into the ballot box.
