Add le/la poêle to list on nouns changing meaning with gender ?

I have recently come across le poêle (as one of the words for) - stove; la poêle - frying pan/skillet. Fairly common kitchen terms, so may be worth adding to the list?

Thank you for pointing this out Maarten but as you will appreciate, there is a limit to how many words we can add to a page.

Bonne Continuation!

Le moule (mould) needs qualification.

I had to resort to my dictionary as this was not clear which type of mould was meant.

A shape as opposed to a fungus as in going mouldy.

Hi Anna,

Thanks for pointing this out as it wasn't clear -

Le moule = a cake tin or a mould ( mold in American English) or a  cast which gives some medium its shape

La moule = a mussel

I have removed the other example as it created confusion.

To say mildew/ mold (the fungus), you would use 'moisissure' or 'mildiou'

but not relevant here.

Hope this helps!

What is the male version of page? It is not included here. I think it is pageboy or servant

Hi Tom,

At a wedding, un page will be a pageboy.

In medieval times, un page was a young noble boy attached to the services of the King or Queen.

Hope this helps!

Bonjour Tom !

Indeed, "le page" had been skipped, but thanks to your eagle eyes, it's now been remedied :)

Merci et bonne journée !

Hi,

Yes I'm aware of the male version of page is. I wanted to point out that it is not included in the list on the page "https://kwiziq.learnfrenchwithalexa.com/learn/theme/3409284".  It caught my attention because all the other words on the page have a male and female version, except for "page". Should it be added?

Thanks,

TG

Hi Tom,

I see what you mean, it has been missed out. I will flag it up.
