Disappointing again

It is disappointing that this lesson has recently been revised, but there still appears to have been no significant effort to address the potential difficult touch points (eg issues repeatedly raised in Q&A) in detail - one obvious one being the use of compound tenses giving rise to (faire) (faire) - such as 'allons faire refaire' or 'suis fait faire'. Just including examples without explaining is not teaching - there is minimal structure to the lesson above. I am increasingly annoyed by references in responses on this site to student difficulties with, or problems learning, etc These overwhelmingly reflect teaching problems, not learning problems. I assume that most people here are, like me, adult learners who are highly motivated, and who have already developed and demonstrated advanced learning skills and capacity. There is much good material here, but there are also swathes of poorly constructed lessons - much work to be done before I would recommend to anyone else.

We put a great deal of thought and work into every lesson and question and this was no exception. Finding an example suitable to test a student's understanding of the nuance here is very tricky, since it requires a context for taking/moving things up and down and going up and down. The reason we chose Jack and his beanstalk was precisely because this ambiguity exists.

In this instance, the meaning can also be figurative, so students benefit from learning some vernacular language too and vocabulary that is outside of the standard textbook language.

Kwiziq is not a typical language teaching site and we have both broader and deeper aims than other products and services. You can report mistakes in content via the reporting links.

This forum is a place to discuss language issues, not attack the content team or their enormous hard work. Please remember you're dealing with other humans when you're asking for language support.
