How the test works

Here's a preview of the text for the writing challenge, when you're ready click the start button above:

What do you think of new technologies? - As a retired [woman], I find it difficult to adapt to all these new devices. I get muddled all the time! Generally, my grandson has to come and help me every time I try and chat online with the rest of the family for I can't manage on my own. In my time, it was much simpler: when we wanted to talk to each other, we either called each other on the phone, or we came in person! - But what did you do to see each other, when you lived thousand of kilometres apart from each other? - We had to send each other pictures by post [US: mail], which took ages! - People must have been much more patient than today!

Clever stuff happening!
