Before you were born, I didn't think that such a small being could take up so much space in my life. Before you turned our world upside down, your mother and I lived in the blissful illusion that we never had a minute to ourselves... How naive we were! I didn't know how to put a nappy [US: diaper] on, or to fix a bottle. I couldn't even use the washing machine! Before you introduced me to the joy of three-hour nights, I used to complain that I couldn't have a lie-in [US: sleep late] on Saturdays. And now, I wouldn't exchange any of this for the world.
