The other night, Julien, Manon and I went to the restaurant. At the end of the meal, the moment that we all dread: the bill came. I immediately whipped out my mobile [US: cellphone] to divide the check equally. But Julien insisted on paying two thirds of the total by saying that he was inviting Manon for her birthday. I was mortified to have forgotten! In the end, we came to an agreement and decided to split the difference, which represented €92.84 each . And as a result, Manon didn't have to pay a penny [out of her pocket]!
