Have you ever heard of Thomas Pesquet? Although he's currently the most famous French astronaut, Pesquet is in fact the 10th French astronaut in History! Born in Rouen in 1978, little Thomas was already obsessed with space. More than anything, he wished to be able one day to reach the stars. And for his dream to come true, he worked extremely hard. He first became an aerospace engineer, before training as a commercial flight pilot. Finally, in September 2009, he was recruited as an astronaut at the European Space Agency. Seven years later, he was taking off on his very first mission on board the International Space Station. And in 2021, Thomas Pesquet was officially promoted to Space Station Commander, which makes him the first Frenchman to be in charge of the ISS! What an extraordinary achievement!
