Apologies if you tried A1 and/or B1 below over the weekend only to find they seemed to be 'dictées' with no sound. We messed up a setting. Sorry! They've been corrected so you should now be able to take them properly:
This week's theme is Love stories - here are the writing challenges:
Level A1: A love story
Level A2: At my best friend's wedding
Level B1: My brother and his wife
Level B2: Pre-date stress
Level C1: A bad matchmaker
Note: It is possible to retake challenges - you'll find a link to do so on the final scoring page.
These tests are self-scoring, so after you translate each phrase in turn, you'll be shown the correct French to compare to yours so that you can give yourself a score.
After each question, you'll find links to lessons on the grammar covered so you can easily add tricky ones to your own Notebook.
In these writing exercises, Kwizbot offers corrections for each phrase, to help you pinpoint your mistakes as you self-score.
Please note that this feature is in BETA, so you may encounter the occasional bug or glitch. Please do let us know about these by responding to this email so that we can get them fixed asap. As always, screenshots and information about your system (OS and browser, including versions) is extremely helpful. We'd also love to know what you think about the new format and function: good, bad or indifferent.
Already on our improvement list:
- Eliminate need to include speakers' names in dialogs
- Ongoing improvement to the correction algorithm
- Option to turn off corrections
I hope you enjoy these challenges! Please don't hesitate to let me know what you think of this format!
