Pour autant que ou Aussi loin que

I just took a writing quiz where I had to translate, "As far as I can remember. " I was marked wrong for "Pour autant que je me souvienne." The correct example was "Aussi loin que je me souvienne." Is there a reason, the French don't use "pour autant que" in this example?
